China – Day 4

9th Jan 2012

Today my guide Cindy took me to see the Summer Palace, a beautiful walk along the side of a frozen lake, the lake was surrounded by increasable buildings and arched bridges.

Afterwards we headed to the Old Hutongs; a traditional town on the outskirts of Beijing, where we took a rickshaw to have lunch with one of the local residents.

The meal was beautiful; we were served a variety of stir fried green beans with beef, tomato mixed with egg and rice.

Unfortunately we had to finish early as Cindy’s son had taken ill  with a cold and had to leave school early.

I hope to spend some time with Jasmine and Coco later tonight, they say they’re going to take me out for a meal!

(P.S. I discovered that my name in Chinese means educated or scientist.)
